Colgate Palmolive announced its 9 month result where the company posted a profit after tax of Rs. 849 million as compared to Rs. 959 million over the same period last year. Earning per share clocked in at 26.66 as compared to 30.36; i.e 11% lower. net sales have shown a nominal increase of 1.3%. The main reason for the decline is 15% increase in selling and distribution expenses.
eps for q3 alone stood at 10.94 as compared to 9.09 over the same period last year, i.e a 20% improvement.
At its last closing price of 699.93, the stock currently trades at high price to earning multiple of 19x!
